Guinea Bissau captain promises to never let Nigeria’s Super Eagles win today as the line has been drawn and competition is unavoidable.
Guinea Bissau’s captain and first-choice goalkeeper, Jonas Azevedo Mendes, claimed that they would rather ‘die’ than lose today’s match against the Super Eagles.
According to Mendes, the team’s main goalkeeper, he stated that they will be out in force to defeat the Super Eagles.
Mendes who was raised in Portugal, the goalkeeper has spent most of his playing career in the third tier of Portuguese football.
When questioned if there was a specific Eagles player they were aiming for, Mendes responded;
“we know Nigeria is a good team. It will be a mistake to target any particular player. We are facing all of them with equal attention.”
