Wizkid, popularly known as Starboy has revealed that Canadian singer, Justin Bieber reached out to him for the remix of his hit jam, “Essence”.
According to Wizkid, Justin Bieber reached out, sent his verse and it was fire from there. He also disclosed that they have made some more music together which would be released soon.
“He reached out to me and he loved the record. He sent the verse and it was just fire,” Wizkid told American entertainment media platform, Complex.
“We linked up and we performed it together. We got some more music together as well.”
The original song “Essence” was an instant hit. It was the eleventh track on the “Made in Lagos” album featuring the amazing Nigerian singer, Tems. It became the first Nigerian song to be certified platinum in the United States earlier in October.
Justin Bieber’s appearance on the remix of “Essence” has done more than a huge favour to the already blown song. It sits currently on number 9 on the Billboard Hot100.
Bieber was excited when he jumped on the remix, taking to his social media to thank Wiz for letting him be on the ‘song of the summer’
He also created a video for his verse and brought out Wizkid to perform the song on his set at Made in America.
